This is now coming from two sources. Fluto Shinzawa from the Boston Globe and John Bishop from Bostonbruins.com are both reporting that Alex Auld will start. I have no idea why. Tim Thomas is coming off two good wins over New York, including a 59 minute shutout. Thomas's performance this season and Alex Auld's performance this season hasn't differed that much. They're both dependable and I really do think the Bruins are going to win tonight. The Bruins are coming off two good wins and the Habs are coming off a bad home loss to a Pittsburgh team that doesn't have Sidney Crosby.
Here are Shinzawa's expected lines:
Sturm-Savard-Kessel
Lucic-Metropolit-Kobasew
Sobotka-Krejci-Pelletier
Reich-Nokelainen-Schaefer
Chara-Wideman
Stuart-Ward
Ference-Hnidy
Auld
The guys from
habsinsideout.com are saying that the old line of Michael Ryder-Saku Koivu-Christopher Higgins will be reunited tonight. It's been their second line of Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev that has been damaging the Bruins this season. Chara and Wideman will probably see a lot of ice time. The two were not overwhelmed with ice time Sunday.
Some very quick news around the league:
• Sidney Crosby is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
• The Maple Leafs fired their GM.
• Canadiens SUCK! GO Bruins!
